daily diet advice for bulking up a skinny guy?
so, I’m 33 and 5’11″ 140lbs
looks like my metabolism isn’t going to slow down yet.
I’m just starting to work with a personal trainer to bulk up muscle
-he said for me to eat 4 full eggs and 4 egg whites every day…seems a bit excessive. I’m thinking half of that?
-he also said to eat 1-1/2 cups oatmeal (I do that now)
-2 slices of non-enriched bread with (organic) peanut butter?
-I have been having a protein shake with milk in the morning and also at night. takes longer to digest than water, but more protein
for lunch OR dinner I have chicken every day
he said for me to have 3000-4000 cals too…

Sounds good. I don’t know about the egg whites though, just eat the whole egg…4-5 should be fine. And you can replace the other half by eating a can of tuna every other day. Just open the can, drain out the water and add some pepper to taste and chow it down. Great protein. Eat every other day because of mercury levels (unfortunately).
Everything else sounds good. Also, try casein protein, it is slow absorbing and great with milk before bed and in the morning. Also, you can supplement with whey protein mixed in water immediately after a workout, as it is very fast absorbing (30 minutes compared to around 7 hours for casein).
