What is a PPO? PPO is a preferred point organization. It’s basically a network where doctors provide Medical Service for health patients. When searching for Health Insurance it is vital that you look up in the network directory that your Doctor is in the network. This includes your primary  Dr. and specialist Dr.

One example of a PPO Network is called PHCS. It basically contracts with doctors to provide discounted rates for Medical Services. For example, my Dr. Is Dr. Jones a primary Physician i in the Huston Texas greater area. I went to the web site called PHCS and logo my Physician. In addition, I also looked up my specialists in network this is where most people went shopping for Health Insurance forget and that can cause loss of m money.

The primary Dr. May recommend a specialist to do therapy like physical care. In this case having the Dr. in a network is crucial. If you don’t have the doctor in the network then it means big trouble for high unexpected cost for health insurance out of your pocket.

If you travel frequently then you have to make sure you have adequate health coverage for emergency situations and that you are covered as well in the network. For example, one health insurance carrier has over 350,00 physicians, 3000 hospitals, and over 48 thousand pharmacies nationwide. This gives one a peace of mind that most likely you will have adequate coverage and that your doctor is in the network.
