Spa Style Facials ~ Do at Home Naturally

Facials are one of the most common types of skincare. Its important to give yourself a facial because your face is always exposed to the environment and everyone sees your face.

A spa facial is more than just cleansing your skin, it softens your skin and with  the massage that you receive, it helps with tension as well. A spa facial gives you relief from the tension you feel in your forehead, around your eyes and mouth  which can have a relaxing effect on your whole body.

Spa facials generally include no less than five steps:

Cleansing

Exfoliating

Mask

Massage

Moisturizing.

To give yourself a spa style facial at home you need to get together all the ingredients you want to be using. Pick a cleanser that is most suited for your skin type.

You can create your own exfoliants from certain fruits and other products you may have in your kitchen.

Papaya is a natural exfoliant when its mashed together with a tsp. of honey. It may also irritate your skin so please test first.

To create a tightening mask you will need a clay or clay like product. For a soothing and nourishing mask try dry milk powder, mixed with lemon, honey and oatmeal enough of  each to create a paste.

Mashed bananas and avocadoes have a natural oil making them great for moisturizing masks.  For dry skin mash enough ripe avocado to make 2 tsp. and blend it with 1 tsp honey. Spread over all your face avoiding your eye area and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

For exfoliating, moisturizing mask and may prevent acne scarring, try wheat germ! For dry skin you will need:

1 tsp wheat germ

2 tsp honey

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp almond oil enough to create a paste. Gently massage into your face and neck avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 10 minutes then go onto your next step in your spa style facial at home. Extra tip about wheat germ, to help reduce possible scarring caused by severe acne try massaging a few drops of wheat germ oil into your skin after cleansing. Do it every night.

You will want to experiment first to make sure you are not sensitive to any of the ingredients you have in mind to use. Like wraps and scrubs, a facial should be done no more than once a week.

Great skin always has a healthy looking glow that reflects the time and effort you devote to it.  Anyone who wants to maintain a healthy looking glow to their skin can benefit by giving yourself a spa style facial at home. And it saves you money as well!

Veggie soup with these ingredients?

I would like to make a veggie soup with the ingredients but I’m not sure how. I’ve never made soup.
I have:
5 cans organic black beans.
1 lb carrots.
A few medium sweet potatoes.
Big handful of sugar snap peas.
A lot of frozen corn.
5 avocados.
Cayenne pepper powder.
Garlic powder.
Basil.
Parsley.
Cinnamon.
Extra virgin olive oil.
Pure maple syrup (grade A dark amber).
A bunch of lemons.

Of course I wouldn’t use all of this, like 5 entire cans of black beans lol. I don’t know if the avocado, cinnamon or maple syrup fit in there at all. I don’t want any meat or meat broth. I don’t like onion, celery, or chunky tomato. I also have whole grain brown rice and whole grain pasta I could add. How much of each thing should I use? How long should I cook it? I was thinking of pre-cooking sweet potatoes, cubed with skin on, then tossing them in some (idk how much) water with the other ingredients. And I like it spicy! Also would this be good cold or reheated? Any help? :)

those right there are a beautiful colour and flavour- sweet potatos and black beans together are really good.

Pasta and rice in soups is usually didgy so leave them for now, you have a perfect soup alreayd.

Heat a knob of butter or oil in a pan- don’t skimp, make it a large knob.
When it sizzles, ad 2 TB garlic powder and a TEENY b it of cayenne powder- like a pinch or less.
Season with salt, pepper, and squeeze one lemon’s juice in aswell.

You don’t mention any other things- like a veg stock cube or anything, like celery ( this can be added to give flavour but be taken out before eating, it makes a good lfavour.

IF you have a few stalks of celery, whole, add them and a carrot and halved onion ( these will be taken OUT before soup is eaten).

Ad a cup of water, or water with a stock cube, to the garlic gravy, and then add the diced sweetpotatos, with skin on. Get them coated in the broth and simmer for 5 minutes,

Take a few potato peice out after this time, and choip into tiny pieces, then toss in oil, add some black beans, and roast them in the oven , for garmish later.
Meanwhile..

Add a can of drained black beans, to the potatoes and stir in.
Taste the broth and season accoring to how spicey you like it- add more cayenne, but go gently, as it is very potent.
Simmer with the beans , 2 cups of frozen corn, with the lid on for 20 minnutes.

Take lid off and stir in the sugar snap peas- cover with lid and leave on simmer five minutes.

If you have old bread, of anykind- make some croutons- spread the bread with olive oil, and garlic powder, and toaste under the grill or in the oven for 20 minutes ( start before soup) with the beans and potatoes roasting for garnish.
Then, test the soup for doneness on the sugar snaps.
Season and add chopped fresh parsley.

Pour into small cups or bowls, and top with a few croutons, and roasted black beans and potato crumbs.
