Skin Brushing – A Forgotten Beauty Ritual
All you need for lasting health and continual energy is a daily all-over skin brush. With only 5 minutes a day, you can help yourself become stress free, as skin brushing helps remove tension and it can also improve the look of cellulite by stimulating your circulation.
Its a good way to remove toxins from the body, giving you more energy, improved digestion and a big boost to your metabolism. Skin brushing can help retard the aging process, helps you stay young, enables you to stand up straight, gives you a perfect figure and allows your internal organs to work as they should.
You will improve mentally and physically, finding you are physically and mentally changing by brushing your troubles away and finding a new lease on life. You will find it very pleasing, addictive and simple. You brush yourself all over, each morning before your shower. Skin brushing helps to keep you healthy and free from colds and flu, meaning less visits to the doctor. Skin brushing differs from rubbing yourself with an exfoliating mit or loofah, as it is a mild form of acupressure or acupuncture that is done without piercing the skin. It helps to stimulate your organs and your external organ the skin.
Brushing your body with the correct kind of brush improves your posture and your headaches will vanish. Your brush is very essential and it needs to be from the Mexican tampico, with a long detachable handle. The bristles are tough and scratchy and can hurt when you first start, so be gentle. The most important facet is that it activates and improves the lymphatic system, which is sort of like a vacuum cleaner for the removal of waste products from the body.

A five minute overall brush is recommended, followed by a warm bath or shower, then a cold shower. You may cringe at the thought of a cold shower, but it helps with your energy levels and stimulates the body, helping you beprepared for your day. A great plus is the prevention of premature ageing, which is caused by the body’s systems running down and becoming less efficient over the years.
Dry skin brushing can be done by anybody, except those suffering from eczema, psoriasis or acne. Please don’t do the brushing over any scars or varicosde veins, just on healthy skin tissue. As the brush is tough at first, start off slowly and lightly and gradually increase the pressure used. Morning or early evening is preferrable and always before your shower or bath. First check to see if your brush is not too severe for your skin. Use it on the back of your hand, if the sensation feels satisfactory, then the brush is not too hard for you, although you can expect the skin to feel somewhat sensitive at first. The brushing ought be done in long strokes and at all times towards the heart.
