Organic Chicken Farming

Chicken Coop Blueprints For Sale
If you have experienced organic products you know how expensive they can be, however the idea of going organic is very appealing or in the case of chicken, free range. That being the case if you have the ability to do so then why not build a chicken coop and raise your own chickens? By investing in a set of chicke coop blueprints you will be able to control your own products!
Building a chicken coop could be the best investment you have in your backyard for several reasons:
1.They do not require as much attention or care as some other pets do.
2. You will have great tasting eggs because you can control their diet, as they eat so do you.
3. They are great at keeping insects at bay, chickens love bugs and will keep your backyard bug free.
4. They can be funny loving pets that are enjoyable to have around.
5. They have a very rich by product that is excellent for your yard or garden!
Of course you have to make sure that your property is zoned for chickens and if you have neighbors close by it would be wise not to invest in roosters.
However if you decide to raise chickens then the rooster is necessary.
This is another avenue for revenue because you can sell chicks to other families that want to raise chickens
There was a good reason why our ancestors raised their own livestock, it gave them the ability to control what they were consuming rather than rely on the grocers for everything.
If you are turned off by the idea because you drove by a chicken farm once and the smell was not the best experience you had you must realize there were probably thousands of chickens in that farm and if you have thousands of any animal you are going to have smell issues. However a few chickens in a chicken coop you build will not be a problem.
Now before you run off and buy hundreds of chickens thinking you are going to get rich, it might be wise to calculate the cost of raising versus the income you will be able to generate. They will be able to raise some money for you because you can sell your eggs to the farmers market which almost every city has and if you are serious could also sell the chicks to other farmers.
is there a store in San Jose CA that sells Organic Free Range Chicken?
I found out that Foster Farms raises their chickens 13000+ in small un movable quarters. And their feed has msg. So, is there a store out here that has free range chicken? Thanks
I’d go to Whole Foods. It’s a bit pricey but they sell organic free range chicken:
http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/issues/animalwelfare/chickens_broiler.pdf
The document above tells you their policies about poultry and they explicitly write “all birds must be raised free from cages.”
There’s a Whole Foods in Campbell, CA:
1690 South Bascom Ave
Campbell, California 95008
Best of luck!
