Why Use Organic Chicken Fertilizers?

Any fertilizer that is “certified organic” has been inspected by an authorized third party agency to verify the organic integrity of its procedures. Any product labeled organic has to meet a list of strict standards. Fertilizer farm organic chicken manure has met all standards as required by the USDA National Organic Program. Standards of quality include:

1. No harmful chemicals or prohibited substances have been used or applied to the field for at least 3 years.

2. Documentation that operations follow strict standards to qualify for certification.

3. Detailed records of company practice.

4. Eco-friendly methods and substances have been implemented to help improve soil, control pests, and clean processing facilities.

Organic fertilizers are naturally rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, the three major nutrients plants need to grow. The natural environment tends to have an easier time of breaking down and absorbing organic fertilizers. One benefit of using an organic fertilizer is an increase in the biological activities in the soil. When you use a synthetic fertilizer there is no natural matter outside of the soil to encourage the development of micro organisms. Micro organisms within the soil help plants convert nutrients into food and help to break down old plant material which adds to the over all health of the soil and garden.

Poultry manure has long been recognized as the most desirable of the natural fertilizers because of its high nitrogen content. In addition, manures supply other essential plant nutrients and serve as a soil amendment by adding organic matter. Chicken manure provides more Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium to you plants than cow, steer, sheep, or horse fertilizer. Chicken manure also adds organic matter and increases the water holding capacity and beneficial biota in soil.

How do you reduce Fe and Mo on fertilizer ?

Hi I’m currently trying to make an organic fertilizer using chicken and Cow’s Manure with Sugar Plant’s Waste. Combined together, granuled it and dry it using dryer.

However My problem is :

The analysis is good for everything except those 2

Fe (Iron) = 22000 ++ (Maximum is 8000)
Mo (Molybdenum) = 64 (Maximum is 10)

My question is :

Is there any method to reduce those 2 element ?

Thank you in advance.

I assume that you are speaking of sugar beet plant waste and not sugar cane waste. Is this correct?

The amount of Fe and Mo is to high to be coming from the chicken or cow manure I would think but I am not sure. I’d think the first step is to analyze the components and determine where these large numbers are coming from.

Back in the early 1900′s and the 1910′s just as the age of scientific efficiency was dawning, the universities of this country, particularly the designated “agricultural – county agent” land grant schools of the Northwest Territory, produced many studies about best practices ranging from the best way to erase a chalk board to the best manure for fertilizer to the best way to plow for soil conservation. Work of this type may have already been done but I wouldn’t know how to find it now.

The Los Alamos National Lab mentions on their website that there are lands that are barren because they lack the molybdenum that is essential to plant growth. Your fertilizer may be ideal for those areas as is without chemical treatment.

It may be possible to remove the Fe and Mo from their source by oxidizing them and then doing a differential reduction using first H to remove the Mo and then C to remove the Fe.
