Take a moment for you in this busy season. Treat yourself to my magic delight. It is perfect to warm you up from the winter cold. A great break from the hustle and bustle. Pause and relax into this chocolate heaven. This is the richest hot coca recipe I’ve ever tasted.

Plus, the secret ingredient boosts your metabolism. No one has to know its healthy.
The kids will love it too – enjoy this radiant recipe!

Ultimate Hot Cocoa Recipe: Healthy, Rich, and Creamy Warm Chocolate Delight
Makes 2 servings

2 cups Soy and/or Almond Milk. (I use Unsweetened Vanilla Blue Diamond Almond Milk, Unsweetened Vanilla WestSoy Milk, or a combination of half of each)
1 tsp Organic Vanilla Extract
3 tbsp Organic Cocoa (Nature’s First Law Organic Raw Powdered Cocoa)
1-2 tsp Organic Coconut Oil (Jungle Organic Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Cold Pressed)

Stevia powder or Agave Nectar – Use your preference of sweetener. Sweeten to your taste.

Mocha Option
Add ¼ cup Coffee (Fresh Brewed or Espresso)
or
2 tsp Powdered Instant Espresso (Medaglia D’Oro Instant Powdered Espresso)
or
2 tsp Mount Hagen Organic Cafe (decaf or reg)

Combine all ingredients in a 2 quart saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the coconut oil melts. Blend with a wand style hand mixer (if available for more frothy results) or with a wire whisk. Pour into mugs. Enjoy!

What are some healthy chocolate foods?

so i love chocolate! and i usually use chocolate in my protein smoothies or in my oatmeal. but i want more of a variety.
for example; i have chocolate whey protein powder, unsweetened cocoa, carob chips, annies organic chocolate bunnies, chocolate peanut butter, dark chocolate squares

Here are some healthy ideas for you

~ Oatmeal with dark chocolate chips, fresh raspberries & vanilla almond milk (you can use skim milk, soy milk or rice milk to) – You can try the carob chips in the oatmeal to or try sliced strawberries to replace the raspberries

~ Oatmeal with a tbsp of chocolate peanut butter, cinnamon, almond milk or greek yogurt to make it creamy in a healthy way

~ “Dessert” healthy smoothie =)
1 cup raspberries or 1 cup pitted cherries
3/4 cup chocolate almond milk
1/2 cup vanilla greek or regular nonfat yogurt

~ Vanilla greek yogurt topped with sliced strawberries (or any berries) with dark chocolate grated on top or crushed squares of dark chocolate. You can add some almond slithers for crunch.

~ Strawberries dipped in dark or milk chocolate hazelnut spread or chocolate peanut butter

~ Apple slices with chocolate peanut butter

~ Smoothie made with banana, unsweetened cocoa, strawberries, almond milk & vanilla or plain yogurt.

~ Plain greek yogurt topped with fresh berries & carob chips or dark chocolate chips.

~ Organic cocoa puff cereal + vanilla almond milk

~ Adding the chocolate whey protein powder to any smoothie or on top of oatmeal or yogurt

~ Frozen yogurt with some dark chocolate chips

~ Whole grain baked foods made with agave or organic cane sugar, unsweetened cocoa, almond milk, carob or dark chocolate chips, bran, etc.

~ You can also try replacing flour in a recipe for brownies with quinoa. I made ”cocoa ball” type treats using quinoa, vanilla almond milk, ground flax seed/water, baking powder, organic cane sugar, etc.

~ Whole grain waffles with chocolate chips =) You can top with berries, greek yogurt or 100 % pure organic maple syrup or jam, for example. You can also try this with pancakes.
