How can Costco sell milk with an expiration date 7 weeks away while milk at regular grocery stores have expiration dates 1-2 weeks away? I bought the organic 3 pack of 1/2 gallon cartons (both whole & skim).

Is it one of those ‘long life’ milks? I can buy cartons of milk which don’t need to be refrigerated until they are opened and you can keep them in the cupboard for ages. Either way, it will last that long because it has(probably chemical) preservatives in it. Once you open the bottle it will have the same life as normal milk.
