Web Design Concepts

The main purpose of website is to support and improve the objectives of the business organization. The website of the company is much beyond than just a company online brochure for your visitors and customers. The first impression created on them is through the web design and the quality of your website. It is not necessary that a website should only provide relevant information but at the same time it should also be designed in such a manner that it attracts visitors and force them to read the content.

It should be always well-designed which integrates the below listed five major key concepts –

1] Good Content: Having good design is the most important aspect of successful website design. For having a good support for your content it is necessary to have a right combination of technology and graphics. To balance technologically and graphically while designing a website we can say that web design is an art as well as science.

2] Easy Navigation and Usability: Having good navigation is the base of the good web designing. It is very necessary that the visitors visiting your website should be aware of the navigation of the website and should be able to understand that how to get where they want to go on your website. Also at the same time the website should be interactive and it should provide instant access to an incredible depth of information. A good web design should be such that it is useful to the visitors with all information about the products and services provided by you making their experience stimulating and satisfying.

3] Website Layout: The overall layout of the website is also an important element. A web page is a simple and plain document which needs to be formatted in such a way that it looks professional as well as attractive. Establish a layout grid and a style for handling your text and graphics and then stick with it to build a consistent rhythm and unity amongst all the web pages of the site. It should be easy to follow, nested tables, lists and frames should be used for controlling layouts and it should be pleasing to visit.

4] Colors: Colors used in the website should be such which appeals your visitor and should be pleasing and soothing to the eye. The color combinations used on a website should be attractive but at the same time it should not look tacky and unprofessional. The background images and the color combinations used in your website are actually the things which make your website remember to your visitors, so more time should be given to select your colors.

5] Load Time: Web pages with large graphics or with music files definitely take more time to load on any browser. It is not a good practice to use more graphics or videos on a professional site as it than takes longer time to load which is not a good practice. Visitors may not have so much of patience to wait for the site loaded fully and they may prefer to leave your site. You can lose visitors or may be potential customers because of the slow loading of your website.
