Rotel and Pasta recipe help?
At a friends house I had a dish of pasta, rotel, and I think tomato sauce. I was told the recipe but I don’t remember it. I probably don’t have all the ingredients so I will tell you what I got.
- A lot of pasta
- Organic tomato sauce with olive oil, basil and garlic already in a jar thing (24 oz)
- Rotel original diced tomatoes and green chilies 10 oz
- another off brand can of diced tomatoes and green chilies same 10 oz as rotel (If i need another can)
I don’t feel like going shopping so do any of you have an idea on what the steps are, if not tell me how to make something with these ingredients
I will not and am not making something with meat.
If I were “stuck ” with the ingredients you have on hand, I would take the 28 ounce jar of tomato sauce and the can of Rotel and put into a sauce pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer for several hours to make it somewhat thicker. As it is simmering, continue to taste, and add whatever you think it might need. Personally, I would think you might need to add more garlic, more basil, and a pinch of crushed red pepper.
That amount of sauce should be about the right amount for 1 pound of uncooked pasta, after cooking. And don’t forget the Parmesan cheese.
