1) Maximize your own area
One of the most overlooked church growth strategies, but perhaps the most potent is to work within your area and with what you have. In their desire to reach a large demographic or have a wide geographical influence, most churches tend to overlook what’s within their proximity. As a result they are unknown even to those in their own backyard, which are the very people they should be serving.
It will be good to initially focus your ministry to those within a 10 mile radius from your church. In that way the cost of your operation will go down as you see faster results and ultimately become more effective at helping people.
2) Always look to cut costs
Whether your church is experiencing a time of prosperity or a period of lack, you should always approach decisions and activities with the secondary aim of cutting costs. This can be done by having the right people watch over and manage the finances of the church. Pick people who will be accountable, who are called to financial stewardship, and who will lead the church to strong financial abundance while eliminating unnecessary spending.
3) Explore joint venture opportunities
You should remember that you cannot do it alone. No single church has the monopoly of all the resources and that’s why cooperation is important. Partnerships are not uncommon in businesses even among competitors and that should be the same approach that you take towards your activities. Work with other churches, ministries, or organizations within your area so you can divide the work while at the same time creating a greater impact.
4) Utilize technology
Your church growth strategies need to be in tune with the times in order to be effective. That is why you need to utilize the available technology such as the Internet. This provides you with a great opportunity to reach more people from practically anywhere in the world at very minimal costs.
