How does brown henna tint a brown shade instead of the red/copper shade?

This question is for those who know more about henna. Natural henna gives off a coppery red natural color. It’s 100% natural. Brown henna on the other hand stains a dark color. Does anyone know if this is as dangerous as black henna that contains the dangerous PPD ingredient?

Some companies just don’t label their products properly. I have 8 yrs experience with henna, mostly with hair but also body art.

Henna that is pure and natural and has no PPD etc… is a natural plant that only dyes one color: reddish tones. So with your hair color you will get like auburn in your hair, like the coppery burgundy color you spoke of.
If you have a henna (as they are claiming) that dyes blue/black on your skin, then this is certainly NOT henna. In fact this is indigo whoch is another natural plant that dyes the hair brown to black tones. It dyes black when used alone, but when used along with henna you will get different shades of brown, and reddish copper shades.

So rather then use a premixed box you are pretty unsure about and not sure what other additives they put into their henna powder for hair color since they can’t even label the products properly to begin with, I would suggest you get pure henna powder, and pure indigo to start to work on the color that is best for you.
