Why wont my 8 month old baby eat stage 2 foods?
Hi, My son is just short of 8 months old. I make the majority of his food myself. When we’re out and about I feed him Hipp organic stage 1 jars. (more convenient for on the move)
I have tried to make his food gradually more lumpy to encourage chewing but everytime I feed him anything that has bits in it he is sick.
He will eat finger foods fine, he just has problems with chunkier baby food.
Can anyone help?
It’s really common – not that anyone tells you
Loads of babies struggle with food that they can _almost_ not chew – they try to swallow it whole and it makes them heave.
Just stick with the finger food, and move on to table food that you can give him in appropriate size pieces. Pasta spirals and broccoli florets work well, pieces of cooked potato big enough that he has to chew them…
If you need to give him occasional jars, just stick with the stage 1 foods. There’s no law that all his foods have to be lumpy
I’ve just got the giggles mum!
