Nourish Your Skin With An Organic Face Cream
Using an organic face cream is a safer and gentle alternative to sensitive skin and to anyone who is concerned about his or her health and wellbeing. Organic-certified creams are made with certified ingredients that are mostly plant-based and completely natural, and they do not use harmful chemicals or artificial fragrances and preservatives.
For a product to be certified as “organic” it has to contain mostly certified-organic ingredients. The difference between an organic facial cream and a “natural” cream or lotion is in the certification. Some popular ingredients in typical beauty products include perfumes, chemical substances and artificial preservatives, but organics replace these with essential oils, floral waters, honey, olive oil or other cold-pressed vegetable oils, herbal extracts, cocoa butter and other nourishing and gentle products of nature. Many of these are almost safe to eat and you can rest assured that they are not going to cause damage to your health.
More and more people are turning to botanical alternatives when shopping for skincare, hair care and cosmetics. Some women have suffered from allergic reactions to chemicals used in body lotions and facial creams, others have sensitive skins that are easily irritated by many typical skincare ingredients, such as parabens that are commonly used as a preservative in creams and lotions. Another reason for switching to organics is that they are friendlier to the environment.
Your antioxidant face cream organic skin care should contain ingredients like olive oil, shea butter, jojoba oil and natural vitamin E.
Olive oil contains high amounts of plant antioxidants. this oil provides the skin with moisture and is gentle to the skin because it is hypoallergenic.
Shea butter is ideal as an anti aging ingredient because of its ability to penetrate deep into the skin to restore firmness and elasticity. It is also rich in antioxidants like vitamin A and E to prevent skin damage caused by circulating free radicals. Shea butter also helps even out skin tone and provides protection against the UV rays of the sun.
Jojoba oil is also suitable for sensitive skin. It has antimicrobial and anti inflammatory properties and is rich in many nutrients like vitamins and minerals. It also benefits those with oily skin as it helps reduce sebum production.
Natural Vitamin E is a power antioxidant, which has been shown in many scientific studies to reverse the effects of aging on the skin by reversing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Also helps prevent the appearance of age spots.
An organic face cream nourishes your skin naturally and is a gentle option even for the most sensitive skin types. Leave the chemicals behind and choose natural beauty, and you will see what a difference it makes.
What kind of ingredient or process turns raw ingredients into a creamy body lotion without toxic chemicals?
I’m trying to make my own organic body lotions and I don’t understand when I look at the ingredients on the bottle of this lotion I use, how do they go from water, coconut oil to making a creamy base lotion?
It has either “coconut fatty acid esters” or “coconut emulsifying wax”. What is that and how can that turn say jojoba oil into a creamy body lotion? What do I need to add?
Or is it done by whipping? Will I need to buy a small manual whip? Or does it need to be done in an electric mixer or some sort?
Any recipes with how-tos will be much appreciated. In advance, thank you for your kind help!
That should read “mini whisk”, sorry
Emulsification is the process, and there are many things that can be used as emulsifiers. Basically, an emulsion is a finely divided suspension of one thing in another — the “creamy” blend you’re describing. It’s the fact that immiscible liquids — oil and water (non-polar and polar liquids) — are being combined that requires an emulsifier.
Yes, whipping is one way to emulsify. By that mechanical action you divide each fraction into such fine parts that they remain blended … at least for a while. The faster the whipping action and the longer you do it, the more finely divided the stuff gets. Eventually, though, the tiny globules find one another and coalesce into larger globs, and the stuff gradually separates.
Egg whites are used as an emulsifier in cooking.
Soap and detergents are effective emulsifiers.
There are many effective emulsifying agents marketed to industry, but they’re not natural products. For topical use, they don’t have to pass the kind of rigorous toxicity tests that internal medicines or food products do.
You’ll need to do further research to find an emulsifier to meet your needs, but maybe having some of this basic conceptual stuff will help ….
