Ladies, do you eat organic or regular food? How crazy do you go about it?
I’m getting paranoia now with all the negative info about pesticides and how they link to cancer.
Before, since I’m pregnant, I was eating organic apples, etc, mostly fruit with thin skin. Now whatever I take like potatoes or bread I think what if it contains chemicals? There is a study that high fructose corn syrup doesn’t get digested properly like cane sugar, and eventually leads to obesity/diabetes. The problem is most foods in the store contain what I thought harmless high fructose corn syrup. I feel I’m going crazy.
Also, my doctor gave me a magazine, and it says there they tested blood from a cord of a newborn and detected about 200 chemicals starting from laundry softeners to fast food wrapper dyes (ink).
I’d like to protect my baby as much as I can, but seems like I have to live in a bubble to avoid everything.
You are right to eat organic thin skinned fruits. especially apples which can not be cross pollinated there to naturally repel pests so most non-organic sources use heavy pesticides to keep there harvest. Peeling does not get rid of the chemicals because it can seep into the meat of the fruit as well.
While there is nothing to say that the food is technically healthier, there is no nutritional difference there is a difference in chemicals and pesticides. In addition if you are going with certified organic foods they legally cannot use pesticides so that is a safe way to go, don’t just go with the label that says all natural or organic, look for the seal that states it is certified organic (im in the food packaging design industry)

We try to do our best with dairy, fruits and veggies, plus we grow our own in our veggie garden. You cant avoid everything but going all natural with home based cleaning products and other items is good for you and the environment in the long run.
