we live in the midwest and the dandelions completely cover our lawn, we live on 5 acres but only maintain, and manicure about 1 1/2 acres. this is our first spring in this house , what is a good organic solution, that won’t kill the grass too?
yes, they are very pretty, but i have 6 small children under the age of 4 at my home daily, 2 of which are my own, and the bees are aweful!!!
as all of your recipes sound wonderful, i really don’t have the time or the benefit of a strong back, pulling them is not an option, besides its almost 2 acres we keep up and it is a blanket of yellow.
Good luck finding a selective organic solution. I mean selective because you don’t want to kill the grass but just the weeds.
If your grass is Bermuda then you can keep it mowed really low and keep it watered well. Bermuda will choke out most other weeds if the Bermuda is healthy. And Bermuda can be kept really short, most weeds can’t compete with Bermuda if you are cutting it short ever week. Of course, where I grew up, Bermuda was a weed. Here in AZ its the only grass that will grow!
Otherwise, forget the organic and just go with some weed and feed.
