There are a ton of benefits from organic pet bedding. For one thing it is much safer for your pets health than synthetic materials. It is more Eco friendly. Ever think about where that bedding is going to end up once it’s worn out? The pet industry is huge! We really need to start moving in a more organic pet friendly direction.

If you have a small animal which requires it’s bedding to be changed often you may want to consider a recycled pet bedding product. This type of organic pet bedding is great for the environment and completely safe for your pet. Recycled paper used to make recycled pet bedding has been thoroughly washed and striped of all harmful chemicals which may have been added during the paper making process.

Bedding for larger animals which is used primarily for sleeping on can come from a number of organic and all natural sources. Your best bet for finding an organic dog bed or an organic cat bed is to look for wool products. Because chemicals do not need to be added to produce wool and generally sheep are raised in humane conditions you can often find it labeled as organic.

Your next best bet would be to turn to cotton for organic pet bedding. While cotton is a natural fiber it often can be expensive in an organic form because of the large amount of pesticides normally used to grow it. Never assume a product is organic because it is labeled all-natural.

Larger dog beds and cat beds can also be found made from recycled materials. Keep in mind these beds are still not biodegradable so once they are worn out they will need to be recycled again if possible. We have found from past experience most green companies dealing in organic pet bedding do a really good job of keeping recycled bedding at the highest quality standards. This insures a long life of your pet bedding and the best bang for your buck. Isn’t that what everyone wants out of a product?
