Why do people bother buying things like a water purifier for there pet?

There’s that, and now organic pet food and clothes and even nail polish! What the heck? And these pets go drink from the toilet or eat vomit and roll around in the mud after a bath! Why do that stuff seriously? I’m asking because I get my cat fancy food every so often and regular clean water and she would rather eat the regular dry food and drink from a mud puddle.
