HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP BAD FOR ME?
i can eat grapefruit, real fruit and I’m fine. I eat fruit snacks and generally fine. But when I eat things like the RICE CAKES MINI’S IN CARAMEL or the rice cakes with caramel I get really hot like my face gets real flushed. The sugar content is LESS than my fruitsnacks though. Sometimes I get warm from the fruitsnacks… but not this bad at all. I am assuming it’s too much high fructose corn syrup because the same would happen if I eat too much granola bars with high fructose. The ones that don’t have it I’m good like the healthier, organic bars.
I know it’s not the best for us, but why does it make me feel this way. Like diehydrated and hot.
I also sometimes feel “backed up” with a lot of those foods.

High fructose corn syrup is not bad, it is a natural product made from corn and in small amounts, just like all sweets it is fine. It might however be very bad for YOU personally. It sounds as though you are having a negative reaction to processed sugars in general but then again it could be dyes in the food, preservatives or a how list of other things. You need to get to a doctor as soon as possible to book an appointment to have allergy testing done. People can develop new allergies at any point in their life regardless of age or environment. They can come on without warning and become life threatening. Trust me, I woke up in the hospital at 14 years old because of a sudden allergy to apples of all things. I now have to wear an alert bracelet and carry an EpiPen just in case. The allergy testing is annoying, but not the end of the world and it is worth the time, and money if it could stop you from possibly getting extremely sick or worse. People do not normally have a reaction of feeling hot, warm in the face, flushed or dehydrated from eating too many granola bars. An average reaction would be a stomach ache. Do yourself the favor and talk to a doctor and until you do, be careful in what you eat. No snack is worth an ambulance ride to your local emergency room.
