2010 Annual Easter Egg Hunt In Clovis, California

As usual, spring season arrived in Clovis and the Central Valley of California around the middle of February, a bit earlier than many parts of the country. The local folks here have been enjoying sunny weather and light cool breezes throughout the day, with colorful flower petals floating on the breeze in many parts of the city.

Spring and Easter celebration go together just like Ham and Eggs.

One of the highlight activities for many children in the City of Clovis during the Easter vacation is the annual Easter egg hunt. Each spring, the Clovis Recreation Department organizes the Easter egg hunt at the Bicentennial Park on Sunnyside Avenue for children age 11 and under.

On a beautiful, crisp morning on Saturday, 27th of March, many children came to the park with their parents and grandparents. In their hands, they carried Easter baskets in various shapes, sizes and colors. One could see many bright smiling faces and excited anticipation among the adults and children as Clovis fire trucks pulled into the park.

Wearing bunny ears over their hard hats, the Clovis firefighters decorated their classic model fire truck with red balloons and lent their hands to the staff of the Clovis Recreation Department to help entertain the children until time to hunt Easter eggs. Soon, many children also had the bunny ears on as they eagerly clutched their baskets. Some of the children waited in line to receive red balloons from the fire fighters. Then, Easter Bunny made her appearance. Expectedly, many children were delighted and jumped up and down as the giant Easter Bunny visited them.

There were several games and contests for the kids before egg-hunting time. Children were divided into three age groups for different activities. I decided to watch the egg-on-spoon races on one side of the park. There, children of age 6 to 11 lined up shoulder-to-shoulder and listened to the instructions about the race. I was impressed to see how these children were so well behaved and such good listeners. They knew how to follow the rules of the games, and they participated in the races in a fun manner.

I was amazed that I did not see a single temper tantrum or quarrel, and I did not see any bullying. In fact, I saw children helping and cooperating with each other. I attribute that to good parenting.

While the children were involved in games and races on one side of the park, the staff scattered bi-colored plastic eggs on the grass on the other half of the park. Then, children were divided into two groups — age five and younger and six and older. The signal was given to start the hunt, and in less than ten minutes, hundreds and hundreds of Easter eggs got picked up. It was enjoyable to watch the children scurry on the grass to pick up the eggs. Many children soon had their baskets filled with eggs. Some of the smaller children had only few eggs in their baskets, but they seemed to enjoy each egg that they picked up, rather going for quantity. The parents seemed to have such a good time coaching their kids from the sidewalks.

Congratulations and many thanks to the staff of the Clovis Recreation Department and the Clovis fire fighters for organizing such a fun-filled Easter egg hunt!

Organic valley milk + omega 3 doesnt pasteurization kill omega 3s?

Omega 3 is a very delicate fatty acid you can’t cook it whatsoever you have to eat eggs raw to get it even. So doesn’t pasteurization kill omega 3s?

Raw milk tastes so much better than pasteurized milk, and the original enzymes haven’t been killed.

You can now legally buy raw milk in some places.
