The question that many people are wondering today is whether the water they are drinking is safe or not?

Reports in the media regarding the impurity of tap water has made people realize they are not as safe as they thought they were. The natural reaction is to turn to water purifiers.

However, there are many players in the water purifier industry. It is natural for a consumer to get confused with so many options and not knowing which the best one is.

Every manufacturer will of course claim the technology he is using is the best. However, the customer has to make sure he completes his research and ensures he knows the right product from the wrong.

A person should also be aware of the filtering capabilities of the filter, as blindly believing in the filter would just put you into more harm than usual.

This article gives a brief overview on Cuno Water Filters.

Cuno water Filters are very effective in removing a few toxic contaminants but leave behind quite a few toxic contaminants.

Even a small amount left behind in the water will only serve to ruin your health. Some companies claim to have a ninety-five percent of toxic contaminant removal rate.

This might sound good but even five percent of toxic contaminants is a lot. There are filters in the market with a ninety-nine percent contaminant removal rate and in front of them ninety-five percent is bad.

Chlorine is an extremely dangerous substance and it must be removed completely at any cost. Chlorine vaporizes and forms chloroform. It vaporizes at a much lower temperature than water.

This chloroform forms the steam during a bath and seeps into our bloodstream. Chlorine increases the risk of cancer by close to ninety-three percent. This is the reason ninety-five percent of contamination elimination rate of Cuno Water Filters is not good enough

There are also other by products known as THMs or Trihalomethanes. These compounds are formed due to chlorine’s reactions with organic substances. They are highly toxic and can cause cancer and mutations. These substances are not completely removed by Cuno Water Filters.

how long do respirator filters last before you need to change them?

i work in confined spaces with certain organic vapours, fuel fumes, thinners etc. theres a type of filter that protects against odours , dust , asbestos,etc and you change those every few days. but what about the organic vapour, and fuel filters? someone told they need to be changed every 24 hours and somebody else told me every few days? the model is a 3m 6001

Organic vapor cartridge respirators are more or less useless against methanol vapors. Professional advice is not to use organic vapor cartridges for longer than a few hours maximum, or not to use them at all. Only a supplied-air system will do (SCBA — Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus).

The best advice is not to expose yourself to the fumes in the first place. The main danger is when the methanol is hot — when it’s cold or at “room temperature” it fumes very little if at all and it’s easily avoided, just keep it at arm’s length whenever you open the container. Don’t use “open” reactors — biodiesel processors should be closed to the atmosphere, with no fumes escaping. All methanol containers should be kept tightly closed anyway to prevent water absorption from the air.
