does monosodium glutamate (MSG) or the chinese agino moto salt have an animal origin?

from what i have gathered from my friends is that the MSG is derived from pig products.
is it true? if not, then plz. tell if it has an organic origin or inorganic!

No. The usual origin is from dried seaweed.
