Cat only eats dry food!?

My cat will only eat dry food. I bough some organic gourmet marks & spencer cat food in a foil packet but she wont touch it! Will this affect her in the long run? She is on iams at the moment, i have some purina one in the cupboard too.
She has fresh water available at all times through a gravity waterer.
She was eating wet food but since i tried her on whiskas complete, shes gone off wet food, she will only eat biscuits now!
The rspca only fed her dry and said it was better for her teeth but my friend who has 3 cats said her vet told her dry food was bad for them and she only feeds pouches! I figured the rspca should know their stuff, who is right??

Your friend’s vet is correct. Dry food is not good for cats and it DOES NOT CLEAN THE TEETH.

Suprisingly, many vets seem unaware of this fact. They may know how to treat this or that, but when it comes to nutrition I am more knowledgeable than they are.

Just keep trying different foods. Your cat used to eat canned food so it’s already used to the texture. It will probably just be a case of finding the one she likes.

In the meantime, continue feeding the dry but start offering a can here and there. You may end up tossing some uneaten but you will eventually strike gold. You can continue offering the dry if you want and if she likes it, but try to get to the point where canned is 1/2 of the total diet.
